Harding Cheerleader General Information

The Harding squad is a group of 10-16 women. The cheerleaders are selected each spring to serve as cheerleaders for the football and basketball seasons. Cheerleaders receive scholarships of $500 per semester for a total of $1000 per year.
Candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. Freshman must meet entrance requirements of the university. Cheerleaders must maintain a full-time course load in order to receive the scholarship. All uniforms, travel expenses and travel meals are provided.
Cheerleaders must report to campus to participate in cheerleading camp one week prior to the beginning of classes. Cheerleaders are allowed to attend one of Harding's campuses overseas (at cheerleaders own expense) during their year of committment to cheerleading. Cheerleading sponsor must be notified prior to tryouts.
Cheerleaders must commit to time for practice 3-5 days a week during the fall semester and 1-2 days a week during the spring semester. Cheerleading contract is for the full school year. If a cheerleaders breaks that contract she will forfeit her scholarship money.
