SEARCY – The Harding University women’s basketball team added three new members in the last week. Joining the Lady Bisons for the 2007-08 season are senior Kristen Donnell, freshman Cathy Ebenja, and freshman Stephanie Stajduhar.
Donnell, a 6-foot forward, will transfer to Harding for her senior season after playing one year at Wichita State in Wichita, Kan. Prior to her time at Wichita State, Donnell played two seasons at Neosho (Kan.) Community College, where she earned NJCAA Academic All-America honors. As a sophomore she averaged 12.6 points and ranked ninth nationally with 11.3 rebounds per game. Donnell attended Sumner Academy in Kansas City.
Ebenja is a 5-foot-7 guard coming to Harding from Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock, Ark. She earned Arkansas Class 5A All-State honors after averaging 17 points, seven rebounds, and two steals per game. She was the Little Rock Metro All-Star Game most valuable player. Ebenja will also run track for the Lady Bisons. She is the three-time defending state champion in the 100 and 200 meters. Ebenja won the overall state championship in the 100 meters in each of the last two years.
Stajduhar is a 5-foot-10 forward from Highlands Ranch, Colo., and played at Mountain Vista High School. She shot 50 percent from three-point range and 76.5 percent from the free throw line as a senior.
The three newcomers brings Harding’s recruiting class to six. Guard Lakyn Garrison (Wickes, Ark.), guard Kallie Bartee (Searcy, Ark.), and guard Leah Fugett (Cave City, Ark.) all signed early.
