SEARCY – Katie Dunn, a 5-foot-11 guard from Auburntown, Tenn., signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent on Wednesday and will join the Harding University women’s basketball team for the 2009-10 season. Dunn is currently a senior at Middle Tennessee Christian School in Murfreesboro.
Dunn led MTCS in scoring in both her sophomore and junior seasons. She scored her 1,000th career point as a junior and averaged 15 points per game. Dunn also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She is a three-time All-District 9-A and two-time all-region honoree. Off the court, Dunn was elected Miss MTCS, the school’s highest honor.
“Katie is an athletic player who could play several different positions,” said Harding head coach Tim Kirby. “Defensively, she is very versatile and will be able to guard anyone on the floor.”
