Football Bisons Meet 20th-Ranked Ouachita Baptist

Harding is seeking its second straight road victory.

SEARCY - The Harding University football team will play its third nationally-ranked opponent Saturday when it meets 20th-ranked Ouachita Baptist. Kickoff at A.U. Williams Field in Arkadelphia is at 1:30 p.m.

  • Harding is playing its third nationally-ranked opponent this season in 20th-ranked Ouachita Baptist.
  • Harding is looking for road wins in consecutive weeks for the first time since 2002.
  • Harding's last road win over a nationally-ranked team came over 24th-ranked Southern Arkansas in 2002.
  • Harding's passing off ense is ranked 16th in NCAA Division II, averaging 272.3 yards per game.
  • Harding senior Josh Jones leads the GSC and ranks tied for second nationally with six interceptions and 12 passes defended. Jones had three interceptions last week at Southern Arkansas.
  • Senior Zac Ross needs 290 kickoff return yards over the rest of the season to become the GSC's career leader.
  • Harding is under the direction of third-year head coach Ronnie Huckeba, who has a 10-15 overall record.
  • Last week, Harding junior quarterback Josh Powell started and played the first series, completing 3-of-5 passes for 22 yards, before coming out of the game. Powell has battled a knee injury suffered during summer workouts but could play in Saturday's game against Ouachita Baptist.
  • Redshirt freshman Chaz Rogers replaced Powell and completed 19-of-34 passes for 236 yards and 2 TD in his most extensive action of the season. Both of Rogers' TD passes went to senior Zac Ross.
  • Harding junior tight end Jordan Watson injured his knee against Southern Arkansas and will not play against Ouachita Baptist. His status for the remainder of the season is undetermined. Watson has 15 receptions for 200 yards this season.
  • With Kurt Adams and Jordan Watson out, the Bisons could play the rest of the season without their top two pass receivers from last season. The duo combined for 1,930 receiving yards and 16 receiving touchdowns.
