SEARCY - Harding University starting left guard
James Kee was named to the ESPN the Magazine College Division Academic All-District 6 Football Team on Thursday.
Kee, with only sophomore eligibility, has earned senior-level credit hours and has a 3.86 grade-point average as a biochemistry and molecular biology major.
A native of Searcy, Ark., Kee has started all 10 games for the Bisons this season. He has played 643 of the team's 754 plays from scrimmage (85 percent). Kee ranks third on the team with 80 percent of his plays receiving a "+" grade from the coaches. He had a season-best 90 percent grade at West Alabama.
The District 6 College Division is made of of NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA and NJCAA institutions in Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico.
Kee, Harding football's 28th Academic All-District honoree since 1996, will now move on to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America ballot. The All-America team will be released Nov. 24.
