Harding finished second at the NCAA South Region Meet.

TAMPA, Fla. – The Harding women’s cross country team qualified for the NCAA National Meet on Saturday with a second-place finish at the NCAA II South Region Meet at Dover Park. It was the Lady Bisons’ third straight second-place finish at regionals.

 

The national meet will be held on Nov. 21 in Ashland, Ohio. Harding will be joined from the South Region by regional champions Tampa, who finished with 32 points. Harding compiled 47 points.

 

Harding had five runners earn All-Region honors, led by senior Katy Grant, who finished the six-kilometer race in third place in 22 minutes, 5 seconds. She was followed by Gladys Kimtai (8th, 22:48), Esther Kosgei (11th, 23:03), Mary Samoei (12th, 23:06) and Rysper Sirma (13th, 23:12).

 

Florida Tech was a distance third with 143 points. Sara Trane of Florida Tech was the individual winner, finishing in 21:37.

 

Harding’s other finishers included Naomi Landecker (20th, 23:53) and Gosia Hightower (25th, 24:10).
