SEARCY – Jenika Sanchez, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Frisco, Texas, signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent and will join the Harding University women's basketball team for the 2009-10 season. She is currently completing her senior year at Centennial High School in Frisco.
“Jenika is a very talented point guard,” said Harding head coach Tim Kirby. “She can score and has great court vision.”
Sanchez averaged 16 points and five assists per game as a senior at Centennial, earning Texas 9-4A First-Team All-District and Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Academic All-State honors. Playing club basketball for Team Texas, Sanchez was named Basketball Congress International All-America.
Sanchez chose to attend Harding after receiving scholarship offers from New Mexico, South Carolina and Colorado.
