SEARCY - Several current and former Harding baseball players are spending the summers on diamonds around the United States.

Brumley suffered the loss but pitched well, allowing only three hits and two earned runs with no walks and three strikeouts in 7 1-3 innings pitched.

Jason Nappi, a transfer from Mississippi State who will be a junior, is having an outstanding summer for the Danville (Ill.) Dans of the Prospect League. Nappi earned a spot at third base for the West Team in the Prospect League All-Star Game. He is hitting .311 with one home run, eight doubles and 15 RBI and has scored 13 runs.

Adam Darby, a recent graduate of Harding, is playing outfield for the Pensacola (Fla.) Pelicans of the American Association. In 12 games, he is hitting .271 with one home run and three RBI. He has scored seven runs and stolen five bases.

Former Harding All-America pitcher Justin Phillips is playing with the Amarillo (Texas) Dillas of the United League, his fourth team of the summer. He gave up eight hits and eight earned runs in 5.1 innings and was saddled with the loss in his first start with the team on Wednesday.
