SEARCY - Harding University head football coach Ronnie Huckeba announced his 2009 active roster Thursday. The Bisons will have 85 players on the active list for their opener against Missouri Southern on Aug. 29. The team also has 41 players who will redshirt this season.

Below is a breakdown of the 2009 Harding Football Roster:

• Class: Seniors (17), Juniors (19), Sophomores (19), True Freshmen (6), Redshirt Freshmen (24).
• Harding has 10 seniors who have been with the Bisons throughout their four-year careers: WR Kurt Adams, WR Daniel Phipps, RB Teddy Luke, DB Morgan Toline, DB Randall Dolan, LB Jeremy Townsend, OL Brad Parker, OL Jimmy Skaggs, WR R.F. Hendricks and WR Cade Caton.
• Harding's six true freshmen are: DB Erik Ragsdale, WR Terrence Davis, DL B.J. Jones, DB Jack Wyatt, K Adin Menkin and DL Zane Brown.
• The Bisons have 38 offensive players, 44 defensive players and three special teams players on the opening day roster.
• Offensively, Harding has four quarterbacks, five running backs, 14 wide receivers, three tight ends and 12 offensive linemen.
• Defensively, the Bisons have 12 defensive linemen, 13 linebackers and 19 defensive backs.
• Deep snapper Darby Palmer, K Adin Menkin and P Micah Canterbury are the three special teams players.
• Harding's active roster has student-athletes from 14 different states. The leaders are Texas (26), Arkansas (17), Tennessee (11), California (8) and Florida (7).
