KINGSVILLE, Texas – Harding University senior defensive back Josh Jones will play in the nationally-televised Cactus Bowl on Friday, Jan. 8 at 6:35 p.m. The game will be played at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville. The Cactus Bowl is an NCAA Division II all-star game for graduating seniors.

Jones, a consensus All-America honoree, will be a member of the East Team and will wear jersey number 1. He and J.D. Douglas of West Alabama are the two strong safeties listed on the East roster.

The game will air live on Fox College Sports Channel 617 on DirecTV and will also be webcast on www.cactusbowl.org. An effort is being made to air the game in Searcy on TV 16.

Jones, a native of Carson, Calif., led Harding with 94 tackles and was the Gulf South Conference leader with eight interceptions. He is the fourth Harding  player to play in the Cactus Bowl, joining Gerald Payne (2000), Floyd Black (2002) and Ross Conn (2008).
