Frank Bolling Victorious in 800 Meters at Mule Relays

Frank Bolling won his second career race Saturday.
WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Harding University senior Frank Bolling, the Bisons’ indoor 800 meter record holder and 2009 NCAA Nationals qualifier, opened his 2010 indoor season with a victory in the 800 meters at the Mule Relays, hosted Saturday by the University of Central Missouri.
 
Bolling defeated 27 other runners in winning the race in 1 minute, 55.28 seconds. It was Bolling’s third career indoor victory; with the other two came at Arkansas State in 2006 and 2008. Bison sophomore Ryan Johnson was eighth in the 800 meters in 2:00.86.
 
Harding had two of the top 10 runners in two other events as well. In the mile, Harding sophomore Philip Biwott placed second in 4:24.14 and freshman Manase Busienei was seventh in 4:32.96. In the 200 meters, sophomore Milton Stewart was fifth of 53 runners in the 200 meters in 22.77 seconds and junior Blake Arnold was seventh in 22.87.
 
Freshman Kory Howard posted Harding’s other top five finish in the running events, placing fourth in the 400 meters in 52.26. Junior Matt Voss finished in 55.79.
 
Senior Logan Wheeler was just .03 off his personal best, running 8.82 in the 60-meter hurdles. Voss finished in 9.34. Stewart finished 19th of 68 runners in the 60 meter dash in 7.07.
 
Arnold had Harding’s top finish in the field events, finishing third of 18 athletes in the long jump. In his first collegiate indoor long jump competition, Arnold jumped 22 feet, 2.50 inches. Sophomore Logan Callier placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 2.75 inches. Freshman Richard Glenn was 10th in the triple jump at 39-11.25, and freshman Josh Winslager was 11th in the pole vault in 12-9.50.
