Owens and St. Clair Pick up All-GSC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Harding women’s basketball players Stacey Owens and Bailey St. Clair received second team All-Gulf South Conference honors Tuesday afternoon in a release by the conference office. It is the third time Owens has been selected and the first for St. Clair.

Both players have led the Lady Bisons in scoring at some point during the season. St. Clair (a junior guard from Lubbock, Texas) leads of late, averaging 13.9 points per game. St. Clair also leads Harding in rebounds, averaging 5.8 a game. This season, she also became Harding’s single season steals leader. She currently has 84 and is averaging 3.1 steals per game. Owens (a senior forward from Russellville, Ark.) isn’t fall behind St. Clair in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game. Owens leads the Lady Bisons in 3-pointers, making 38 on the season.

Owens was selected to first team All-GSC last season and was named preseason All-GSC before the beginning of this season.

St. Clair and Owens look to lead the Lady Bisons heading into the GSC Tournament. Harding, the number three seed from the West Division, will face the number two seed from the East Division North Alabama on Thursday at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southhaven, Miss., at 5:30 p.m.
