SEARCY – Harding freshman So-Yun Kim placed second and junior Ragan Muncy was third as the Lady Bisons won their third tournament of the season Monday and Tuesday at the Natural State Golf Classic. Harding hosted the event at the Red Apple Country Club in Heber Springs, Ark.
The Lady Bisons have now won twice in their last three tournaments and placed second in the other.
Kim, a native of Seoul, South Korea, fired a tournament-low 75 in the first round and an 84 in round two to finish at 159, tied with Ana Morales of Arkansas Tech. Morales defeated Kim in a playoff to take the individual title.
Muncy shot 79 in round one and 82 in round two for a 19-over 161. She has finished in the top five in her last two events.
Harding gave itself a big cushion after shooting 322 in round one. The Lady Bisons led the tournament by 14 strokes over Arkansas Tech. Harding shot 330 in round two and won by 13 strokes with Arkansas Tech second (665) and Henderson State third (669).
Harding sophomore Evelyn Poteet was 12th at 169. Freshman Whitney Ohlhausen and freshman Tara Fuchs tied for 15th at 171. Fuchs’ score of 79 was the best by a Lady Bison in the second round.
The Lady Bisons return to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Gulf South Conference Championship at Hot Springs (Ark.) Country Club.
