Kirwa Sets School Record, Qualifies for Nationals in 5,000 Meters.

Kirwa broke his own school record in the 5,000 meters at Georgia Tech.
ATLANTA, Ga. – Harding University junior Daniel Kirwa broke his own school record and qualified automatically for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a second-place finish Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
Kirwa, a native of Eldoret, Kenya, finished in 13 minutes, 58.86 seconds, over two seconds faster than the school record he set in 2008. He has qualified automatically for the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters.
Harding senior Frank Bolling ran an NCAA provisional time of 1:52.39 in the 800 meters, and sophomore Wojciech Kopec ran a provisional time of 9:21.38 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Both performances were personal bests.
The NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will be in Charlotte, N.C., on May 27-29.
