SEARCY – Harding senior runner Katy Grant’s awards haul continued Friday when she received the All-Academic designation from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II indoor or outdoor provisional or automatic qualifying standard.
Grant, a native of Mustang, Okla., recently graduated with a 4.00 grade point average in social work. She also ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 11 minutes, 11.71 seconds in the outdoor 3,000-meter steeplechase in a meet at Rhodes College.
The award was the latest in a long string of honors for Grant following her senior season. Her honors include:
· CoSIDA 1st Team Academic All-America (Harding’s first female three-time Academic All-America)
· NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Recipient
· Gulf South Conference Top Ten Award
· Named to the Gulf South Conference Cross Country All-Decade Team
· Harding’s Female Berryhill Award Recipient
