SEARCY – At 9:25 p.m. on Sunday, the 2011 Harding baseball team officially became the first Bison Baseball squad ever to earn a berth in the NCAA II Tournament, as the 48-team bracket was announced on NCAA.com.

Harding is the No. 3 seed in the South Region and will meet No. 6 seed Tampa at 1:15 p.m., on Thursday in Pensacola, Fla.

Harding has a 41-12 overall record, won the Gulf South Conference West Division regular season title, and made it to the GSC Tournament championship game.

Tampa is 35-15 and finished tied for third with a 16-8 record in the Sunshine State Conference.

The winner of the Harding-Tampa game plays the winner of the Southern Arkansas-North Alabama game on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The losers of the two games play Friday at 10 a.m.
